Prior to Alysia Caryl's departure she was able to purchase prints using museums funds which had been set aside for our Let’s look At Art program. We now have 25 prints of “Sophie holding the world together” which is the mural on the wall in discovery Meadow. The mural is a collaboration between El Mac and The Propeller Group commissioned by San Jose Museum of Art in partnership with empire seven studios and the Children’s Discovery Museum.

The prints have been divided and put in the extras at each center for your use. It will be a great connection to our community and the San Jose Museum of Art. Some presentation questions could be to ask the children to share how they would feel holding the world or if they could do one thing for the earth what would it be and how would it make them feel?

We have also purchased several photography prints to add diversity to the fourth and fifth grade portfolios. Several of our docents helped mount about 50 of our newest prints for our LLAA portfolios. The museum provided the work space to get those prints mounted and ready for our portfolio centers.
