Study Group - Cross Pollination

The second Study Group of 2022 was held virtually on December 12th. It centered on artists who work in or drew inspiration from multiple genres. Docents who attended the study group either by presenting or observing were gallery docents Michaela Landrok and Martha McKee-Hayden. LLAA docent Lisa Dearborn presented on "The Connection between Music and Painting." Nancy Dunne visited the Lawrence Ferlinghetti exhibit at the Triton and spoke about how his poetry inspired his art. Jody Foster gave a presentation on the connection between poetry/writing and painting. Elizabeth Bonnet spoke about her visit to the Musee de l'Orangerie in Paris and the work of Joni Mitchell who was inspiried by the music of Betsy Jolas. Tony Misch showed us the work of the film artist Agnes Varda and Liana and Lotte presented their interview with Dennis Marien who helped illustrate the graphic novel: Gilfamesh. Susan Curtin, Marcia Klein and Sherry Tsai and Mary Perry were on hand to contribute to the discussion
